OREH is an open Russian-language education hub for children from 1.5 years and adults. In-person classes meet every Sunday in Carrum, in Melbourne’s south-east. Russian lessons are also offered online through Zoom, Skype and other platforms.
OREH also runs other activities in Russian, seminars for parents and creative workshops open to everyone.
OREH has been operating since 2017. The school will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2027. For the latest school news and updates, visit our official Facebook page.

New students are always welcome! Group and individual classes are available across our programme. All lessons are taught in Russian, including beginner English.

OUR TEACHERS & VOLUNTEERS
Experienced people,
one welcoming school.
Our teachers bring subject knowledge, practical experience and relevant teaching diplomas and certifications in line with Community Languages Victoria (CLV) standards. They keep their skills current through professional learning and courses, and OREH staff take part in local and international conferences on bilingualism and multilingualism. Volunteers help with classes and school events, support children and families, and share their skills.

Как же мы обрадовались, что недалеко от Фрэнкстона есть русская школа, и что в школе Орех идут уроки не только русского языка, но и математики, и творчества для детей от 5 лет, а для малышей от 2х лет - уроки раннего развития с необычайно разнообразной программой. Преподаватели школы верят, что только искренний интерес и жажда новых знаний у детей могу привести к результату и закрепить знания в памяти, позволяют естественной любознательности ребёнка быть мотивацией к учебе. Дети видят и слышат разнообразие русской речи у разных людей, общаются на разные темы, что способствует пополнению словарного запаса и улучшает восприятие русской речи. Еще школа Орех организует праздники, на которые приглашаются семьи, друзья, устраивается угощение для всех, игры, музыка, оставляют неизгладимые впечатления, дети и родители помнят их долго, и радость ассоциируется у них с общением на русском языке, русской культурой, традициями, праздниками. Большое спасибо преподавателям школы Орех за то время, силы, энергию, которые они вкладывают в школу! Их увлеченность это то, из-за чего дети с радостью ждут воскресенья, чтобы отправиться в Русскую школу!
We were so glad to find a Russian school not far from Frankston. At OREH, children can learn more than Russian: the review mentions maths and creative activities for children from five, and a varied early-development programme for younger children from two. The teachers believe that genuine interest and a desire to learn help children make progress and remember what they learn. Children hear different kinds of Russian, talk about many subjects, build vocabulary and improve their understanding of spoken Russian. OREH also organises celebrations for families and friends, with games and music. These become lasting memories, linking Russian language, culture, traditions and celebrations with happy times together. Thank you to the OREH teachers for the time, effort and energy they give to the school. Their enthusiasm is why the children look forward to Sunday and their Russian school.

Школа Орех помогает детям сохранить русский язык и найти новых друзей. Подход к обучению очень домашний, дети много играют, рисуют, готовят блины и пирожные. 🙂 Очень рекомендую для детей разного возраста!

Я была в школе Орех, так как меня заинтересовал семинар по многоязычию,который проводился силами их учителей и приглашенных мам детей-билингвов/трилингвов. Заодно, решила с позволения ее замечательного директора - Веры Ивановой, осмотреть школу Орех и поговорить с учителями, которые там работают. Это очень приятное место-светлое, много комнат для разных возрастов и потребностей, и учителя, не просто мамы-энтузиасты, а многие – профессионалы своего дела, точно знают и владеют навыками и опытом, как воспитывать детей-билингвов и даже трилингвов. Очень понравилась школа, если бы я не жила на противоположной стороне Мельбурна, то смело бы доверила своего ребенка в их руки.
I visited OREH because I was interested in a multilingualism seminar run by the teachers and invited mothers of bilingual and trilingual children. With the director Vera Ivanova’s permission, I also looked around the school and spoke with the teachers. It is a very pleasant, bright place, with different rooms for different ages and needs. Many of the teachers are professionals with the skills and experience to support bilingual and even trilingual children. I liked the school very much; if I did not live on the other side of Melbourne, I would confidently entrust my child to them.

Мы занимаемся в русской школе OREH (Мельбурн) уже несколько лет в онлайн-формате, и я могу с уверенностью сказать — это одна из лучших русских школ, с которыми нам доводилось сталкиваться. Дети изучают русский язык, математику, рисование, биологию, а также занимаются гитарой и пианино. We have been studying online with Russian school OREH in Melbourne for several years, and I can confidently say it is one of the best Russian schools we have encountered. The children study Russian, mathematics, drawing and biology, as well as guitar and piano. The teachers are knowledgeable, attentive and passionate about their work. They connect with the children and make each subject engaging. Lessons are in Russian, and the children look forward to them — the most important measure of quality for me. I especially want to mention the school director, Vera, who is always ready to help, offer advice and find a subject or teacher to suit each child. There is genuine care and an individual approach to every family. OREH is more than lessons for us: it gives the children valuable Russian-language practice and helps them maintain and develop Russian in an English-speaking environment. We see real results and are grateful for the professionalism, warmth and high standard of teaching.
